Thun, April 15, 2010: Robert Schumann piano quartet first performance at GAIA International Music Festival
Visitors of the GAIA Music Festival can look forward to a premiere: Robert Schumann’s C minor piano quartet will be performed there for the first time ever in Switzerland. Pianist Roman Zaslavsky will play the piece in a to date unheard version. The quartet origins go back to the year 1829; Schumann was then torn between his law studies and being a full time composer, which left the piece unfinished. Using Schumann’s notes, Roman Zaslavsky completed the piece and will perform it on May 7 during an hommage to Schumann, honoring his 200th birthday. – Shepard Fox Communications is handling all media relations for the festival, including: press releases, interviews with the musicians and festival directors, listing of the event in festival directories across Europe and being the festival’s press office.
