The Chairman of the Adecco Insitute and former German Minister of Economics and Labor, Wolfgang Clement, advocates to make temporary workers fully eligible for short-time compensation. In a statement distributed to the media by Shepard Fox Communications, Wolfgang Clement claims that fully extending short-time working benefits to include temporary workers without exemption would slow down the rise in unemployment substantially, especially among workers with fixed-term contracts; the globally widening gap in demand forcing companies to switch to short-time work or to lay off employees, should be brigded by further qualifying staff to be prepared for the next upturn. – Besides assuring distribution of the press release, Shepard Fox Communications handled all media requests.
