Duesseldorf, February 26, 2008: German companies plan to hire more staff over 50 – highest awareness for demographic change within EU
German companies are increasingly aware of the consequences of demographic change. When comparing the five biggest economies within the EU, German companies show the highest awareness: 70% of companies cite the ageing of the workforce as one of the biggest challenges facing the future, tantamount to globalization and technological progress. This increased awareness is reflected in the attitude towards older employees: 15% of large companies plan to hire more workers aged 50 and older in 2008 compared to last year. Those are results of a survey of 500 German companies, designed and commissioned by the Adecco Institute and executed by TNS Infratest. The findings were presented today by the Chairman and Managing Director of the Institute and the CEO of Adecco Germany at a press conference in Duesseldorf. – Shepard Fox Communications planned, prepared and managed the presentation, which included: coordinating the survey with TNS Infratest, analysing the results, briefing of speakers, preparing the press release, producing and translating the white paper, inviting the press, and managing the press including interviews on site.
