Warsaw, June 9, 2010: MasterCard launches contactless payments for ticket vending at Warsaw Metro Stations
MasterCard has started tests of contactless payment cards in Warsaw’s urban transport ticket vending machines. Bus and subway travellers now have the opportunity to make quick non-cash payments for their tickets by holding the specially enabled MasterCard close to a reader in the ticket machines. The acceptance of contactless payment technology is growing rapidly in Poland. The network of contactless payment transaction points is estimated to reach 15,000 service and retail locations by the end of the year, including those of McDonald’s and Shell. – Shepard Fox Communications managed the annoucement of the launch and all public relations on behalf of SIX Pay Poland and SIX Multipay headquarters, the providers of the underlying payment technology.
