Oslo, December 10, 2008: Norwegian companies among best prepared in Europe for consequences of demographic change

Norwegian companies are among the least worried about the ageing of the workforce: only 27% consider demographic chnage to be one of the most important challenges of the future, compared to an average 47% of companies in Europe. Also, fewer Norwegian companies have analysed the age structures of their employees, a prerequisite to prepare for an ageing workforce. Yet, Norwegian companies are among the most open-minded towards older employees so that altogether Norway in a survey of 5000 companies in 11 European countries comes into second place. That is the result of the Demographic Fitness Survey conducted by the Adecco Institute and presented today by Adecco Norway. – Shepard Fox Communications was the overall project manager, coordinating between the surveying company, the Adecco Institute in London, and Adecco Norway; it also managed the production of the study report, authored the press release, provided translations and helped align the Norwegian PR activities with the publication of the Danish and Swedish results of survey on the same day.
