Munich, March 12, 2020: European Patent Office (EPO) publishes latest Patent Index, global indicator of innovation. Shepard Fox supports the EPO with media outreach campaign spanning Europe, the U.S., Japan, China, and South Korea
The European Patent Office (EPO) today published its annual Patent Index, an analysis of the global patenting activities of companies, research institutions, and universities. The Patent Index summarizes the number of patents filed with the EPO by country, company and technology field. It is considered a key economic indicator as it reflects technology trends, R&D spending and the capacity to innovate which in return correlates with competitiveness and the creation of jobs and wealth. – For the sixth consecutive year, Shepard Fox has been supporting the EPO in communicating the results of the analysis to media, policy makers and the general public via a global media outreach campaign which comprises the creation of localized content including local press releases in 16 languages for twelve of Europe’s largest patent filing countries as well as the U.S., China, Japan, and South Korea. The campaign further includes outreach to lead media (print, online, digital, radio, TV) in each of the countries via Shepard Fox’s local outlets, providing journalists with both global and local figures, as well as arranging and managing interviews, while monitoring media publications for coverage of the Patent Index.
