A black and white square goes global: Masahiro Hara, the inventor of the QR code, has now been nominated by the European Patent Office for Europe’s highest technology award, the European Inventor Award. What started as an attempt to improve his employer’s logistics system ended up revolutionizing the world of the barcode.
